Binding collections from the CMS to your design

Using repeatable content in the form of collections is an easy way to manage content separately from the design of your website.

In this video we look at how to bind an entire collection to your website in the Flipsite website builder.

First we pick or create a collection with fields we want to repeat and bind to a single webpage.

Then we go to the canvas editor, pick the main section that we want to repeat and underneath the CMS setting, bind the entire collection as a "Repeat collection" to the section. This still doesn't add any data to the screen - it only repeats that collection and makes it possible for the underlying components to bind the data from the fields in the collection. You can also decide to filter only some of the rows in the collection.

Finally we only bind the value from the collection to e.g. text fields or images. As easy as that and the content is decoupled from the layout and whenever you edit or add new rows to the collection, they will automatically show up on the page – without you needing to edit the page at all.
